Once your supplies are gathered, here’s how to replace a refrigerator door gasket step-by-step:

 

1. Soften the New Door Gasket

2. Remove the Old Gasket

While your new gasket is soaking in hot water, start removing the old gasket from your unit. Simply pull it from the door grooves. Note that some door models may require you to remove the handle to safely remove the old gasket without causing accidental damage.

Secure the Gasket Dart in the Remaining Door Sides

Carefully insert the gasket dart into the sides and any remaining grooves around the door. Start at the middle of each side and work your way toward the respective corner. Firmly press down on the gasket to ensure every inch has been pressed into the groove.
